3rd Team 2 - 7 Edmontonians

GK - Fitz - Played the sweeper keeper really well today, pulled off some good saves and kicking and ctaching was good. They were a good attacking team and we did not have our best defence in front of him today so unlucky to conceed 7 goals, especially 3 of them were top draw. Rickel would have conceeded 9 or 10 goals today.
RB - Kyle - Played very well, especially as Mike did not back him up that much and neither did George. Battled hard. Charlie would have been better here with Kyle at CB.
CB - George - okay game but they did loads of through balls past him and crosses over him and he is not quick. Jude and Kyle at CB would have been better.
CB - Miller - Very busy today and played very well. Did the best he could against an attacking team and battled well in the air and on the floor. Did not give up or pull out of challenges.
LB - Mark - battled well going back as usual and was good bringing the ball forward out of defense and throw ins. Did not have much help from Damy.
RW - Mike - going forward as usual was great and set up my first goal. Did not seem to come back much and tired / head dropped in 2nd half.
CM - Paul great as usual, broke down so many attacks with either tackles, pressure or the odd foul. Missed him big time in the 2nd half when injured.
CM - No good on the ball however battled harder then anyone today keeping us in it, and again missed him when he went off to rest. When we had no Paul and Nick at the same time the game changed and heads dropped at 5-2 onwards.
LW - Damy, great going forward, not good going back, moaned a lot at the ref and needs to brush off fouls as a compliment and realease the ball instead of waiting to be fouled.
AM - Kav - okay perfromance going forward, not great going back. Oshane or Gareth would have been better.
CF - Scored header in first half and low shot past the keeper in the corner 2nd half. Had a couple of shots blocked and a few half chances. Tried to keep the ball down, hold it up and slow the game down 2nd half when things were going abit crazy. I have 6 goals and an assist in 6 games for the 3rd's so buzzing at the moment. After next week I will miss 2 games on the spin 5th and 12th Oct, so we need people like Oshane and Olly to be playing in these games as no goals or real signs of goals from around the pitch at the moment.
SUBS
Dods - Tried to get the ball down and play and battled well to create a pass/tackle for 2nd goal. Me and dods were at fault for a poor kick off for their 4th goal
Chris - Ran ok, played 30 mins at RW but didnt see him make a pass or tackle. Too soon to say but when he went off we ran the game for the 2nd part of the 1st half.
Franc - A sub at best in comparison to CM's like Paul, Nic, Oshane and Gareth. Played okay.
One note I have on free kicks is that once in the 1st half and once in the 2nd half we had free kicks in dangerous crossing areas and as our team were moving forward into position we took both free kicks really quickly and they turned straight into breaks for the oppo. My view is get as many players in the area as possible and then put in a good cross for the best chance to score or win a corner, another free kick, penalty and keep the ball in their half.
Miller made the very good point that we still wait for the ball a bit too much and are not on our toes as teams are getting to the ball/loose balls before us a lot.
