Aldous opened the scoring with a good move down the right found Baldwin in the middle who squared his pass to Aldous who found the back of the net from 18 yards. Egbertians made it 2-0 soon after when some good work from Hyde and Aldous found White on the edge of the box and his left foot shot hit both posts before hitting the back of the net. Wood Green got back into the game with a defence splitting pass found their striker who duly dispatched the pass to make it 2-1 and give them a foothold back in the game. Shortly before half time some great work by Baldwin saw him cut the ball back for Brown whose header made it 3-1 at the break. The second half got a bit scrappy but Egbertian's dug deep and defended excellently as a team to keep Wood Greens chances to a minimum and collect their first 3 points of the season.
