1st Team 2 - 2 Parkfield Res

Another week with an understrength Egbertians side and another week we have dropped points we should not have!
We started very well and were very dominant, we tested the goal keeper early and inside 15 mins found ourselves 2-0 up! When first Chris made a great run into space on the right and Folan pulled the ball back for Chris to beat the keeper with a lovely shot, the second was when Hooper passed it left to Gareth who cut inside and took his shot well for a lovely finish.
The next 30 mis was chance after chance and Egbertians should have had at least 3 more with chances coming from both Ryan’s, Gareth, Kyle but the best was after a lovely move between Webbo, Folan and Hooper that saw a lovely through ball put in between the defence and Webbo run on and put a lovely left footed shot past the keeper… Sadly the ref thought it was off side and chalked it off! We will have to check the video replay when Steve gets hold of it
2-0 up at half time and Parkfield decided to head back to the changing rooms to regroup and it seemed to have worked they came out more focused and in the kind of fighting spirit we want to see on the pitch and not what the left winger tried in the first half. Egbertians helped them along the way when Massey misheard the keepers call and headed the ball into his own net! This seemed to have knocked us for six and fired Parkfield up, we managed to hold back the pressure and pushed of for a third goal in the hope we would shut the game down but we was undone when a counter attack lead to another gifted goal! We then had two players pick up knocks and with nobody to replace them were really under the cosh so 2-2 in the end was a good result but extremely disappointing when you think if we had a full side we would cruise this game….
