2nd Team 1 - 3 Old Bromleians

Played a very dirty and physical side. The referee booked 4 of their lads and is submitting a report to the league about their conduct and intimidating nature.
We were literally kicked off the pitch. Rhythm was broken up with cynical kicks or lads squaring up to us. This was not a game for the young lads in the squad particularly. That said, I saw Dominic Nolan 'grow' during the game, shield the ball, ride tackles and generally look after himself.
Despite Old Bromleians disgraceful antics we still should have won this match. Coupled with the late cry-offs, half a squad and three lads carrying injuries it was a very good performance. The game was lost in a 8 minute period during the first half. Our injured full back - who only told us he was injured 30 seconds before kick off....was exposed and lost his positional head in a short space of time.
Despite this we dominated the opening exchanges and completely dominated the second half. Four woodwork efforts, some very good saves from their keeper and no shots on goal from the opposition - except the 3 aberrations in the first half summed up the match.
Back to the drawing board.
