After the late start Egs started brightly and scored an early goal after good work down the left. The goal scorer is highly contested and is likely to give rise to a Sheringham/Cole hatred for years to come.
Soon after an opposition player handballed on the line and, despite the follow up being slotted in, the referee gave a penalty and sent off the player. The penalty could be described in many ways "lame, tame, awful....". Anyway it was missed as was the follow up.
Despite Egs being on top and having a number of chances Enfield scored from a miss hit cross to make it 1-1.
Egs remained on top in the second half with a number of chances, whilst Enfield had a couple themselves. A header from Tom W and a goal from Chris H finished off the game.
Good result and performance given Egs had only 11 players and no keeper.
