It was Egbertians IV first game for 6 weeks and surprisingly they started strongly with a dominant first half display. Egbertian deservedly took the lead after 30mins when a Goulding free kick caused all sorts of problems in the oppositions penalty box and found the back of the net with everyone missing it. Egbertians had many half chances in the first half and their failure to capitalise was ultimately their downfall when a half chance fell to the Parkonians lone striker who hit a wonder goal from the edge of the box to make it 1-1 at the break.
They say football is a game of two halves and this game certainly epitomised it. Parkonians came out in confident mood in the second half and Egbertians really struggled to get into the game. Parkonians duly took the lead after 55mins when their centre midfielder sent a free kick into the top corner giving Garrett no chance in the Egbertian goal to make it 2-1. Egbertian tried to get back into the game and the game was essentially settled in the 80th minute when a quick counter attack saw the Parkonians left winger cut in from the left and fire a shot into the bottom corner to send Parkonians V into the Quarter Finals.
