Finally some good weather, finally some Football played and finally a win for us!!
It was a difficult first half playing up hill and against the wind and sun, not to mention a few rusty players as it was the first game after nearly 6 weeks and with a few new faces in the team it took a while to gel. After the first 20mins we did start to create a few half chances but found ourselves 1-0 down at half time due to a long ball that carried in the wind and a good finish from their pacy foward.
A few stern words from myself at half time seemed to do the trick and liven us up a bit, as we came out all guns blazing in the second half. Our first goal was route one from Fitz assisted by the wind and Sam headed the ball on the bounce over the keeper. The role on role off subs started to work to our advantage and with 2 quick wingers running at the full backs we started to create a number of chances and they began to tire. The 2nd goal was a through ball from Nick H and Hooper skillfully took on their left back and smashed the ball in near post off the post low and hard. Their heads started to drop with the 3rd for us which was an OG after great work from Damy down the left who crossed it in with pace and the defended turning into his own net. From then on our tails were up and we started to play some really good attacking Football, whilst the back 4 and midfield stubbed out any attacks the oppo had.
The 4th goal was scored by Billy after a great cross from Oshane from the right. and the last goal was again Damy sprinting through the right of their defence and smashing it across goal into the net.
A great performance after a shakey start to the game
