1st Team 0 - 4 Old Edmontonians

Due to the rain our game was moved from 15:00 to 17:00 and on to the 4G surface, we lost a few players but managed to bring in players from the 2nd & 3rd Teams.
Edmontonians are sitting at the top of the table and we was hoping to pick up a win and start to build as challenge for top spot. Egbertians started very strongly moving the ball about well on the very fast 4G surface and keeping Edmontonians penned into their own half.
Chances were falling wide or directly at the keeper and we seemed to lack the threat in front of goal we had last week. Ryan Folan tested the keeper twice first from a great ball from midfield that he ran onto then secondly after pulling a defender wide and cutting back inside. After about 35 mins of total control from Egbertians we switched off and Edmontonians started to get back into the game with some quick passing and good wide play, we gifted them a goal as the keeper came out to pressure the ball Edmontonians quickly switched play and came across goal and with a good finish the went into half time 1-0 up.
Edmontonians came out of the 2nd half the brighter side and both sides were playing some good football, a scramble at the back again gave a gift to the Edmontonians striker when we literally passed it to him! Heads started to drop as we was chasing the game and some poor defending from a corner gave Edmontonians a 3rd goal.
The 4th goal was another gift as we didn’t challenge on the edge of our box! Shocking result really as we were the better side for most of the game and the lads played some great football, but Edmontonians had better finishing and a bit more sharpness than us.
3 losses on the spin now so we will have to pick ourselves next week and get back to winning ways!
