Egbertains started well and took an early lead through Goulding after some neat approach play by Kent. They soon doubled their lead after a flowing move down the left saw Kent once again turn provider with a great ball across the box to Goulding who stabbed home from 8 yards with his big toe. Egbertians looked to be bossing the game and could have gone further ahead but Hyde's free kick smashed against the bar. The turning point of game came just before half time as the referee allowed the home team to restart the game quickly following an injury to the Egbertian Goal Keeper, and before he could get his gloves back on their striker had sent a low shot into the bottom corner to make it 2-1. The second half saw Edomontonians push for the equaliser and that duly came with a low shot across the box that went into the side netting to make it 2-2. Egbertians had a number of half chances to win it with Brooks firing over the bar from 12 yards, a Kent bicycle kick and a McLean Lob all coming close. The game however was won with the last kick of the game as the Edmontonian Midfielder sent a hopeful shot at goal from 40 yards and it somehow ended up in the back of the net off the underside of the bar to give the home team their first win of the season.
