3rd Team 2 - 3 old Bancroftians

Egs took the lead after 15 minutes into the first half, from a well placed far post corner headed in by Abdullah on his debut game, well done as he beat their defence who were at least all 2-3 inches taller. Bancroftians equalised shortly afterwards leaving even at half time. Second half for Egs was a fairly even match, albeit a bit shaky in the first 5 mins for us. Dom scored our second with a cracking shot from just outside the 18 yard with the outside of his right foot. Egs continued to apply good overall pressure, leading to an incident resulting in both teams being brought down to ten men for the last 12 mins. Bancrofts really pushed for the equaliser which they got. A miss timed defensive header at the edge of the 18 yard box and some luck lead to a scrappy winner for them. Good overall play by Egs this week, with better play out of the back and real battling midfield for most of the game. A few missed placed passes during the game, and better overall game fitness. We lacked flair in the final 3rd unfortunately, but progress is there every week.
