An organised and disciplined performance by Egbertians IV saw them go through the 3rd round of the LOB Drummond Cup with a comfortable 2-0 victory. Egbertians started the better and a Kent cut back from the left saw Parkinson hit the cross bar from 8 yards when he should have done better! It was not long after that Egs took the lead when an Offord through ball sent Baldwin clear who slotted it past the on rushing keeper into the side netting to make it 1-0. Old Woodhouseians did not roll over and put the pressure on the away side with some decent passing and attacking play. However Egs held firm with some outstanding performances from D Garrett and Sikking at the back and J Garrett was on guard to keep out some long range efforts. Egbertians finally put the tie to bed when Palmer sent Baldwin racing down the left and his fizzing cross was met by Kent who smashed home his first goal for the Egs to make it 2-0 and put the tie beyond doubt. Egbertians kept orginised and disciplined for the last 15 minutes to see out the game as the home team started flying in with tackles. The final whistle went and a comfortable 2-0 victory puts Egs into the hat for the 3rd round.
