An unfortunate loss yesterday against the current premiership champions.
Yesterday was a good and hard game. The pitch was awful which slowed the tempo down a little. We competed from beginning to end and what undone us was momentary loss of concentration on a corner with about 30 seconds of the first half to go. This allowed their live wire left winger to ghost in and power home a header.
The second bit of misfortune for us came via a dubious penalty shout midway through the second half. A challenged was made, the ball was won but the referee elected to give a penalty because the player was caught too - It was very harsh.
Apart from that the game was very even with a few clear chances created at either end. We played the better football and had this team working hard to defend against us. We can be proud of the performance considering we had a flat 11 and some key players missing.
Now it time to get the league campaign back on track.
