A great win today.

The prep was not the best with cry-off at 11.30am. And A player arriving 20 minutes after the match had kicked off.

That said we started the better with ten men and quickly went ahead form a good move resulting in Connor rushing in and lashing home a close range blocked shot. We had some more chances but failed to score another goal due to good keeping, lack of composure and a waterlogged pitch.

The game in all honesty should not has been played in these conditions. We as a result had to play a little more direct than usual to avoid puddles being their 12th man.

Our 11th player arrived and we went back to a full compliment. We however, failed to score with a number of chances created. Then a collision between Connor and the keeper saw us go back down to 10 men towards the end of the half. But ironically within 1 minute of Connor leaving the pitch for treatment we scored again courtesy of Tom Dodd. A through ball saw Doddy steady himself and pass the ball into the net.

We went into half time and regrouped. Our focus needed to stay the stay the same. Unfortunately we dropped off a little during the opening exchanges of the 2nd half. We got drawn into a slugging battle primarily through not exposing their back four our quickly enough. We got drawn into a middle battle and moved the ball around too slowly. From an attack of ours a long ball straight down our middle saw their striker race through and slot the ball home. 2-2 and game on.........

We weathered a couple of attacks and Mike Ramsey went up the other end and scored to make it 3-1. We started playing again and pressed a little quicker. A quick turnover of possession saw a cross into Albert control, swivel and then hook a shot past their keeper go 4-1 up.

The game was stopped when a a strong challenge on Proctor saw a melee ensue culminating in one of the oppo running 20 yrds to plant a punch on Proctor. The player should have went but the ref bottled it. The situation calmed down despite a few late challenges coming in.

This break in play saw us ironically compose ourselves resulting in more fluid play. We moved the ball quicker now and a counter attack saw a 2nd goal from Mike Ramsey. The final goal came from a corner culminating in Ramsey attacking the near post and directing a header into the net. 6-1 and a job well done.

The result was convincing, improved our goal difference and keeps us on track to chase down the leading teams in the division.
