3rd Team 0 - 5 Kingsburian

A physical and at times ill tempered Kingsburian side. With not the best of football play from either side this week.
The first 10 -15 mins started a little shaking for Egs as many of the core 3rd team players got stuck in traffic on the A406 and didn't get the full opportunity to warm up thoroughly and familarise themselves with the assisting 1st team members. Kings played hard and pushed the play for the first twenty leading to an early goal from some poor tracking on our left flank and our keepers delay to leave his line. Egs were awarded a penalty for a handball, which James took and the keeper saved. Eggs had began to settle and the game re balanced a little, with eggs starting to feed the ball wide and keep the play in the 3rd quarter of the pitch. Our wingers Omar and Mo struggled to contend with the physical play of Kings and much of the build up play ended being lost to recaptured balls by Kings fullbacks. Ricky came off just before half time with an injured Knee and could be out for a while. Kings squeezed in their 2nd goal just before the close of half time on the counter attack, which we failed to close down on the flanks and paid for. The second half was much of the same with Egs not being able to find a consistent flow of football. So weren't able to really utilise the play from the back, and down the flanks, as we lacked the movement and demand for the ball. Richard warner from the 1st took a knock on the knee and also had to come of during the early part of the 2nd half. Afterwhich we conceded another counter attack goal widening the gap around the 65th minute. A well struck second ball from a corner and a well taken free kick, awarded from a late challenge by me, finished a difficult afternoon off. We were just not able to make that final 3rd work for us and much of the our build play fizzled out. Our appreciation and thanks go out to Bayo, Craig, Richard, Barry and James from the 1st who offered up their time to play for us this week.
