An improved performance on Saturday from the reports I received back.
Having no keeper ultimately seems to have caused the most damage. Missing 5 regulars from a tiny squad undid us and compounded by the fact that we were only able to pick up one player from the other Eggs teams. Thanks to Mark Speller who also did a stint in goal too. Along with the last minute 'drop ins' ensured we went to a unspectacular yet free-scoring University of Hertfordshire side with a bare 11.
Our make shift side, short of confidence was punished by a more direct and ruthless side. They had 8 chances and converted 6 of them (4 were long range efforts from outside the box).
The wheels have firmly come of our early season promise. The senior players need to accept the season they've created. We the 1st team need a bigger squad and the club needs to have more players capable of playing first team football.
There is a lot of pride to play for between now and the remainder of the season.
