Not the best performance in the 1st half. Mags played with 10 men throughout and to there credit really made it tough work. They were organised and direct, with plenty of long balls with the wind to there advantage. We played some really scrappy football the first 35 mins and were too inpatient in attack. we had plenty of opportunities but wasted them. Jahir scored our first, in the last minutes of 1st half from a lovely angled ball played through by Val. Jahir let the ball momentum go dummying his marker and with a angle run, pulled the keeper out to slot it past him.
The 2nd half was much better for us and we controlled the game from start to finish. Should of really finished this game off on a number of occasions. We had numerous corners and free kicks as magdalenians always left a little in after almost every challenge. Felt the ref was slightly more lenient with the oppo as they had 10. This wound a couple of the lads up and didn't help with concentration. Jahir eventually put matters to bed with a great reaction from a corner that just seem to drop over everyone and he popped in at the far post. The final 10 mins we sat in saw the game out. Positive result the real test will be our next game against the title chasers.
