1st Team 2 - 5 Old Minchendenians

A hard game against the league favorites.
We started amazingly well despite 3 drop outs and resulting rearrangement of the side.
The first 20 minutes saw us create 5 clear chances. Minchendenians couldn't get on the ball or near it. But a sporadic attack from them saw a cross touched in at the far post with a lapse in concentration from a defender.
Minchendenians went on to score two more break away goals in the next 20 mins with Mike Ramsay replying with a nice take down, swivel and glancing shot across their keeper.
Half time came and we reset ourselves. We quickly conceded another weak goal from a counter attack and the their 5th came quickly afterwards. This did not stop us playing and during this time we had two balls cleared off their line and their keeper made a few key blocks. Our second goal came from a quick attack. We lost the ball and pressed them into a mistake. The ball fell to us again and square ball was played in to Theo who ran in on goal and lashed a low hard drive beyond the keeper form outside the box.
In fact this was a game where Minchendenians had a combination of the 1st team, 2nd and 3rd team playing. Minchendenian had about 8 chances and converted 5 of them. We had about 15 and converted 2. Taking chances or the lack of hurt us in this game as its has all season. We fell asleep at vital times for their goals too. But credit to a very good side who did what they had to do - beat us. The performances was good but the result bad.
