Egbertians IV won a 3-2 Thriller on an absolute farmers field of a pitch. Mayfield took the lead with a smart finish to make it 1-0 but the Egs deservedly found the equaliser through a Ramsey pole-driver. He controlled the ball with his right and smashed it from 20 yards into the roof of the net to bring the scores level at 1-1 at the break. Ramsey and White were enjoying the conditions and bossing the midfield mud bath, while Lancaster and Sikking were ruthless at the back. The Egs then took the lead on 60 mins with a super cross from Young that found its way to Chinnery who acrobatically scissor volleyed and absolute pearler that broke the net. A beautiful goal. The home side grew frustrated as Goulding nutmegged the centre back to break away, only to be pulled down, to earn the defender a second yellow and get his marching orders. The Egs then made the extra man advantage count as Young then played in Goulding who calmly knocked it over the onrushing keeper to make it 3-1. The Egs looked comfortable until Mayfield scored from a set-piece in the 87th minute that lead to a few nervy minutes but the Egs didn't crack and held on for all 3 points.
