A great performance by Egbertian IV saw them run out comfertable winners against their bogey team Old Salvs. Egs started well with some good passing but fell behind to smart finish as Old Salvs direct approach caused problems early on. Egs kept composed and quickley equalised through Goulding after a smart cross from Lewis to make it 1-1 at halftime. After the break the Egs moved up a few gears and Goulding played a smart pass to split the defence to Francis who kept his cool to lift it over the keeper to make it 2-1. Young then made it 3-1 with "Payet" style free kick from 25 yards. Badge then controlled the ball expertly down the left from a Young pass and whipped in a perfect cross for Francis to smash in the header to make it 4-1. Francis then won a penalty, when taken down by the keeper, only for Goulding to hit wide and deny Francis his hatrick! Francis kept on smiling and got his hatrick he deserved with a well taken curler from 20 yards that the keeper could only watch! That made it 5-1 and good day for the Egs who remain 3rd in the league with 3 games to go and all to play for.
