3rd Team 2 - 5 Old Woodhouseians

The final game in a long hard season for the 3rd team.
With a bare 11 due to two lads supporting the 2nds we were always up against a strong and physical Woodhouseians side. They had a match day squad of 16 lads and a few 1st/2nd teamers playing for them.
We played well and was in the game at 3-2. But two poor defensive mistakes resulted in 2 penalties which extinguished any hope of a come back.
The pick of the goals came from Egbertians too. With Joe Walsh, who was particularly impressive in central midfield, dropping a shoulder and allowing the ball to run across him. Without looking up, he sent a majestic through ball onto Azamat. Who raced clear cut in avoiding two defenders and passed the ball in from the edge of the area.Was a very good and well worked goal.
This is the makings of stable and settled side. Egbertians FC should do everything possible to keep these guys together and to find a manager for them. Their attitude and camaraderie was really impressive and it was a pleasure to manage then.
