After conceding 12 goals in two game due to player availability we finally had everybody available and we could put out our strongest team, and it paid off. We started the game a little shaky largely due to nerves and some players looking a little rusty but after 15 mins we took control and never let it go. Our passing was good and we was winning most of the battles in midfield and we opened the scoring after Massey picked out a peach of a pass that saw New Striker Mike Hand round the defence and easily slot it past the keeper. After the first goal we really settled down and looked more and more comfortable as the game went on. Chris scored the second goal after a lovely pass from Rhys who made a run from the left wing across goal sliding the ball in front of Chris who made the finish look easy. Massey was finding lots of room in fromt of him allowing him to pick out some fantastic passes and again he was the provider this time for Sonny who headed home our 3rd goal. Magdalenians did not look comfortable in defence and our wingers linking up with Mike caused them endless problems. Chris made a great run into the box and was brought down heavenly but the ref waved play on, but knowing that the defence did not like him running at them he kept it up and eventually was brought down again but this time the ref gave the signal we wanted, Massey stepped up to take over from Danny Rhone as our penalty taker and comfortably struck sending the keeper the wrong way.
Starting the second half 4-0 up meant that we could make up some of goal difference and the team pushed hard. Joe split the defence with a great pass to his brother who burned past the defence and finished with great control. Another lovely ball over the top this time from Chris and it was the hard working Adam was running onto it beating the defender with some amazing pace to then calmly round the keeper and put it away with ease 6-0. After that we missed quite a few chances that would have took up back into positive numbers on goals and reflecting back we could have gone into double figures.
Great game and glad to be back to winning way and with a few new striker!
