We started brightly putting QMC under pressure from the start, the first goal came from a great move down the right that saw Ryan provide a great cross that was met by Burnage to give Egbertians the lead, It didn’t take long for the 2nd when Manning calmly slotted home a low cross. The Bertian boys looked in cruise control when a great solo effort from Dave saw him beat a few player and then the keeper slotting home the finish with his right foot. QMC pulled one back 15 mins before half time when dubious penalty was given against Gary for handball, 3-1 up and we started to put more pressure on QMC and two great long shots from Rhys and Harley put us 5-1 up and the game was looking like a rout.
Credit to QMC they came out in the second half and tried to pull things back and we saw a few good save from Matt to keep us in control , Dave again went on a sole run but this time was brought down in the box and Pringle converted the penalty. We had a few more chances that forced the keeper into make save first a free kick from Pringle that was tipped onto the bar and over and a second that saw Adam Walker hitting the crossbar. The next goal was one that saw Dave get the perfect hat trick (right foot, left foot, header) when a great shot from Harley was deflected and fell towards Dave who calmly and intentionally switched feet to tap it in with his left foot.
The final goal came from a right footed shot from Adam Walker who topped of a great individual and team performance…
AFA Cup next week let’s hope we can take this form into next weekend.
