4th Team 2 - 3 Mayfield Athletic Reserves

Egbertians started the game very slowly and this ultimately cost them the match. On a boggy pitch shooting up a hill, Egbertian could not get going and Mayfield took an early lead with a neat through ball and finish from their striker. They soon made it 2-0 with another ball that split the defence and neat finish took it over the advancing Garrett and into the empty net. Egbertian's finally got going with Pybus and Goulding both testing their keeper and Baldwin firing marginally over. The sucker punch then came just before half time with cross from the right that saw defender, Goal Keeper and striker all attack the ball but the striker came out on top and his header made it 3-0 at the break. The second half saw a transformed Egbertians take the game to Mayfield and they got a goal back when a great delivery from the left by Goulding was met my Chinn who headed into the top corner from 12 yeards. Egbertian continued to press and were lucky not to conceed a 4th with Mayfield playing well on the counter attack but they held firm to try and stay in the game. With minutes left a long throw from the right saw Hollands goal bound effort redirected by Pybus to make it 3-2 with about 1 minute of play to go. Time had run out and Egbertian IV sufferred their first loss in 6 games.
