Four wins on the spin and another 3 points on our way to promotion…
A nice day for football but the pitch was a little bobbly and made it harder than it was needed.
Bertians started quite this week and looked a little lost in the middle due to a few people being away, despite that the team fought hard and made the best of what we had.
The first 15 mins was a bit of back & forth and The Mighty Egs were getting the better of the exchange, after 15 mins we struck when a great ball from Ryano put Joe Spires in on goal. Joe took it well putting the ball over the keeper and into the net. A second goal followed not long after when a great cross was headed off the inside of the cross bar by Dan Morgan but it fell nicely for Joe to nod in.
2-0 up at half time but Parkfield were certainly still in the game and fired up, they had a few chances that forced the Mighty Egs Number one into action, but Paco dealt with it in excellent form. A bobbling ball in the box was tapped in to give Egbertians a 3 goal cushion as we started to put more and more pressure on and the game looked out of sight for Parkfield.
A free kick from Aaron (Speedy) Ramoz-Gonzalaez made it 4-0 and with 15 mins to get the players attention turned to The Grand National…
Another good win from the boys with 4/5 normal players out, 6 more games to go starting next week with a DH away at University of Hertfordshire!
