1st Team 2 - 2 University of Hertfordshire

The first game of a double header against University of Hertfordshire on a very well kept pitch!
Herts started very brightly knocking the ball about well and keeping a very high pace, we struggled at first to get a grip on the game in the first 20 mins. As we started to take control of the game we was put under pressure in the Herts half and a quick break saw the Herts No 9 get in between our defence and slot home an absolute gift of a goal.
Their lead didn’t last that long after a fantastic strike from well outside of the box by Ryan Murray, even if the keeper had got both hands on it he could not of stop it from finding the back of the net.
The game started to even out with Egbertians wasting some easy chances to take the lead and Paco ensuring we didn’t concede, Herts had a corner that was cleared by Cooper only to find the right foot of a Herts player from outside the box and one hell of a strike that found the net.
The second half started just as high paced and we struggled to clear a ball in our own box and a clash later and a Pen was given, the Herts number 7 stepped up but Paco had the better of the exchange pushing it away and then smothering the ball.
With less than 5 mins left we had another player turn up and decided to throw him straight in, and I will not regret it as great ball whipped in from Speedy was buried by Dwayne who had properly not even warmed up yet.
The final score was a fair result but we will regret not having our full team…
