Egbertain IV AFA cup run ended against a solid Ecomomicals side who went into the next round with a 1-0 win. The Egs played some decent stuff and controlled the first half without creating any clear cut chances. The opposition chances were limited to set pieces but they were causing the Egs trouble in this department but Garrett was in inspired form producing some fantastic reaction stops. In the second half Economicals got into the game and got the breakthrough from another corner that was fortunate as the ball broke nicely to their midfielder who hit the back of the net to make it 1 nil. Egbertians pushed hard to find an equaliser, and the game became very stretched with the heavy pitch not making it very pretty! Lancaster has having a great game at the back and Garrett produced another cracking save to keep the Egs in the game. Egbertians had some half chances and kept going right to the end but it was not be and their cup run came to end.
