3rd Team 1 - 5 Enfield Grams

A really disappointing performance by the IIIs this week. We started well and despite the state of pitch and miserable weather, the team pinned Grams in their half for the first 30 mins of play. Lack of discipline in overall team shape and composure on the ball meant we failed to capitalise on the early pressure we put Grams under. Ricky was brought down and awarded a penalty around the 35th minute. Mo took the penalty, but was way too relaxed and the keeper saved it, this proved to be the turnpoint of the game. We then concede two goals against the run of play from counter attacks and ended the 1st half 2 goals down. The second half display was shocking for us , we lacked the hunger to challenge and became reactive in our play. The pitch was bad , but our mentality was worse and despite continued relentless effort from Kavan and Ricky in midfield and Liam's high work rate in the back, team performance was poor. The one fluid move of the game for Egs between Cristhian and Rob, lead to Jake scoring his debut goal for us. Unfortunately a further 3 goals in the second half ended a game we may look back on at the end of the season and kick ourselves for.
