1st Team 1 - 3 Hampstead Heathens

A tough loss on Saturday. Simply put we were asleep for the first 30 minutes. In this period we let a hard working opposition score three goals. Two from set play free kicks and the third from over playing at the back and getting pick pocketed.
We awoke afterwards and put a lot of pressure on Hampstead. We got one goal back from a Bobby Clark free kick and created numerous chances to not only draw level but to win the game. But on a very difficult surface we struggled to get the 2nd and 3rd goals to draw level.
We could have done better as a team and - we all know it. Before the first goal went in, there were 2-3 warnings where crosses came in and no one jumped to attack the ball. Instead the ball ran across the penalty and out for a corner or goal kick.
We did try and our 2nd half performance was impressive. But we failed to do the basics which is fight for every ball and play in the final 3rd.
Now its time to concentrate on the league campaign. We can charge up the league but have to be committed in every game / for the entire game.
